Camille Jones, Vocal and Piano Instructor
Camille Jones is a talented vocalist, composer, songwriter, and teacher. Camille has had the opportunity to sing with a number of musical legends, political figures, and diplomats including Cicely Tyson, President Barack Obama, Gerry Allen, Patty Austin, LaLah Hathaway, Cyrus Chestnut and others. This past May, Camille’s gifts garnered national recognition at the Howard University commencement ceremony. and was also a featured performing artist at the annual National Women’s Democratic Convention two years in a row.
Camille, a classically trained child who grew up in a musically diverse household, is no stranger to the music world. Her parents observed the musical proclivities in their child from as early as 10-months old, when baby Camille regularly found herself “singing” children’s songs in church. Her parents, noting other talents, enrolled her in drum lessons at the age of four. Since that pivotal moment, she instantly fell in love and began to master her musical gifts with excellence. Camille’s upbringing would expose her to a vastly elaborate musical collection.
When she is not performing, Camille is busy serving as the newest Teaching Artist for the Young Musicians of Alamance and gigging throughout the state. Camille acknowledges God as the sole reason for everything she does. She has coined the verse “Acts 20:24” as her motto.
